Body Oil + a Book Update!

UPDATE: The book is now available! You can find the paperback or kindle version here or a printable PDF version here.

I have made such progress on the book in these last few weeks. I am happy to announce that I will be hitting “publish” on OCTOBER 1ST!!!!! It will be available as an ebook on my website and Amazon. The book is a simple format, offering you all of my skincare formulas it’s taken me YEARS of trial and error to develop. The BEST thing is that I offer suggestions and actually ENCOURAGE you to use the formulas as a base, and have you customize the formulas with the plants, herbs, and essential oils that will benefit YOUR skin the best.

My Community Members are helping me select the cover image right now, and I’ll be sure to reveal it here just as soon as the process is done.

I decided to share my body oil formula with you all as this is the PERFECT time to ditch the commercial body lotions that are full of fillers, synthetics, and chemicals. As the seasons are changing, your skin needs change too. I had actually tried last year to make a nurishing lotion, but after many trials and errors, and reading up on how to use fillers and binding agents, I realized most lotions are nothing but water. I knew there had to be a simpler way to get soft skin without coating my skin with chemicals. Enter the Body Oil. Simple to make, and one quart mason jar has lasted me just about a year! I’ll share the formula that is straight out of my book,. Use it as is, or sub one of the carrier oils for another if it works better for your skin type. I have sensitive skin and this formulas works great!

I like to fill a mason jar with my oils and whatever plants + herbs I want to incorporate letting it infuse in a sunny window for a day or two before I move it to my Apothecary to finish the infusion process. Usually 4-8 weeks. Strain your oil and transfer it to another clean and sterile mason to store. I keep mine in an amber bottle with one of those slow pourers you see in a liquor or fancy olive oil bottles.

Some of the plants + herbs I like to use are lavender, orange peels, rose hips, chamomile, plantain, rose petals, violets, echinacea, thyme. Use whatever plants or herbs you seem attracted to- there is a reason you are attracted to them in the first place.

This is also a great time to use Essential Oils. Create your own blend or buy a pre-mixed blend. This is a GREAT way to skip the commercial perfumes and get a 2 for 1! My go to blend right now is lavender + patchouli+ sandalwood
