Still Life Pullback
I recently worked on a collection of Still Life images for my Art Publisher and wanted to share my super simple indoor set up for those who might be interested.
The set up is pretty simple. I used a tri-fold project board (the kind we used for Science Fair) set up on a desk in front of a window. The light is best when it’s an overcast day but you may be able to filter bright sunny light with shear curtains.
I used a stool and a vintage frog to set up my flowers, setting them up several inches from the board as not to create shadows.
I did need to tweak my set up just a bit here and there as time went on, you can use the side flaps to bounce/direct light as you need it.
I loved some of the shadow play I got when the sun would come out from behind the clouds and some of those images made the cut with my publisher!
