Beneath the Mulch Flower Essence

Beneath the Mulch

(a reflection on the quiet season of becoming)

This morning, I sat with a meditation that brought me deep underground—

into the rich, dark softness of the forest floor.

It smelled of earth. Of decay and rebirth. Of roots and memory.

It was full of nutrients.

Full of everything unseen that nourishes new life.

I was reminded of the mycelium highways beneath our feet—

the quiet network that connects, feeds, and supports all living things.

We don’t see it.

But it’s always there.

Working, weaving, holding.

It felt like the same message I’ve been receiving through a flower essence I’m currently working with:

Beneath the Mulch—a remedy for the in-between seasons.

For when we’ve let go of the old, but the new hasn’t fully emerged.

For when we’re not blooming, not producing—just composting.

Transforming.

A fallen tree over the creek that runs through our property. Rich with organic nutrients in the hollow truck and offers a base for other life to grow and flourish.

These are the moments when I question everything.

Why share, when no one seems to see?

Why create, when there’s no echo?

Why offer, when the silence feels louder than the work itself?

But the forest reminds me:

Nothing is wasted.

Everything has a season.

And even in silence, we are being witnessed—by the earth, by the unseen,

by those still on their way to finding us.

So I come back to this:

I am still connected.

I am still becoming.

I am still rooted in something much older, wiser, and deeper than I can explain.

And that is enough.
