Handmade/Homegrown Gifts

Every year for Christmas I make a bunch of homemade gifts and not-so secretly, they are always my favorite!

I thought it would be fun to give you a round up of all my favorite handmade, homegrown + DIY gifts to get your creative juices flowing!

Elderberry Syrup- either a kit of the finished product.

Mushroom Cocoa Mix I recently shared this and plan on putting together a teacher gift to include mix, marshmallows, + a painted mug using this tutorial I found on Pinterest.

Custom Blended Tea, whether it’s from your garden or a favorite blend from your local tea shop. Bottle in a mason jar, give muslin or paper bags, and a cute mug to go with it.

Handcrafted Body Oil using your favorite plants + herbs. I like to let my herbs infuse for at least 6 weeks but if you are pressed for time you can use a dehydrator or crockpot to warm the oil, being mindful not to boil your oil! Bottle and tie with a pretty bow and you are set!

I’ve bottled smaller body oils with a spray top for easier application

After infusing, I strain through a coffee filter and using a wine pourer as the stopper.

Make an Intensive hand + foot cream bottle in a small mason jar and give with a cozy pair of socks or cotton gloves.

Lip Balm, bath salts, hand salves, wrinkle cream, lash serums, oh my! Download my Apothecary Formula Book and get your green kitchen witch on!

Flavored Simple Syrup using this simple method to make syrups for your favorite foodie in your family. Make a small variety pack - lavender, rosemary, chamomile, lemon balm, elderflower, berries of all kinds, etc. Use in place of raw sugar in teas, coffees, lemonaids, etc.

Have any art lovers in your life? How about a Wild Ink Making Kit: Bundle up dried plants and store in a muslin bag along with a few bottles with a link for the receipient to visit my wild ink making article at Mother Earth News here . My Wild Ink Workshop is also available to guide them through the process step by step. Check out my Wild Ink posts to see all the different colors I’ve been able to produce from plants around my home.

Have an abundance of seeds from your garden? Why not share them with the garden lovers in your life?! Everyone loves to receive flowers so why not give the gift of seeds so they can plant their own abundance! I love to give seeds in small test tubes or in handmade envelops made from left over Wild Ink paintings.

Handmade Gift Tags dress up your gifts with homemade gift tags from left over art scrapes you might have lying around.

I hope this roundup sparks a little creative inspiration; I’d love to know what you like to make to give as gifts, let me know in the comments!
