Defining Creative ‘Success’
What does finding creative success look like to artists, makers, creatives? It’s a question I’ve been asking myself for much of this year. Is it measurable by how many followers, students, products you’ve sold? Or does it go deeper than that? Creating work that resonates with yourself on a soul level regardless if the piece ever sold or maybe was never even seen by another person?
Maybe it’s going deeper into your ‘why’ you create in the first place?
As this year wraps up this is the question I most find myself looking to answer. What does success look like to me as a creative? What can I do more (or less) of in order to find that success that will fulfill me creatively? The answer will look different for everyone. For me, it’s going even deeper into my practices, tuning out the noise that surrounds us on a daily basis, following my own creative voice, listening to the inner whisper of my intuition. I want to let go of all the superficial fluff and find a deeper connection.
