Herbal Salts
We gardeners often find ourselves with an abundance of herbs during the growing season and I am always looking for way to preserve and use them. Herbal salts is just one of those ways AND they make great gifts too!
The are incredibly easy to make. After harvesting and washing fresh herbs, I like to do either a rough chop OR just drop the entire bunch into my food processor along with my salt and give it a few pulses until it’s at a consistency you like. No food processor, no problem! Just use your favorite knife to finely chop your herbs and mix with your salt.
Spread the mixture onto a parchment paper lined baking sheet and let it sit for a few days, moving it around on the sheet 1 or 2 times a day until everything is nicely dry.
Store in an airtight jar.
